Pushing the Bear by Diane Glancy was about the Cherokee Indians’ plight on the Trail of Tears. By using both fictional characters and actual historical figures intertwined with actual primary sources, Glancy weaved a convincing story that tells the human experience of the Trail of Tears. This book illustrates the effects of the Indian Removal Act had on the Cherokee.

The Devil in Massachusetts – A Modern Enquiry Into the Salem Witch Trials by Marion L Starkey
Marion Starkey’s 1949 publication of the Salem Witch trials is a well-researched chronicle of the mass hysteria that gripped Salem, Massachusetts in 1692. However, contrary to the subtitle, there are no new insights or enquiries into the one of the most horrific events of pre-colonial New England.
