Saint Oliver Plunkett Archbishop & Martyr, 1625-1681
Plunkett (or Plunket) was born into an influential Anglo-Norman family on 1 November 1625 at Loughcrew, near Oldcastle, Co Meath. In 1647, he travelled to the Irish College in Rome, and was ordained a priest in 1654. To avoid Cromwellian persecution, Plunkett petitioned to remain in Rome, and in 1657 became a professor of theology.

Spies of the Balkans Written by Alan Furst
I had always liked the books of Alan Furst but this one threw me for a loop! Maybe it was me not being able to get into this story but, with my love and interest in books from this period before, during, and after WWII, I figured I would fall right into this spy book and enjoy it thoroughly. Instead, I “waffled” my way through this read.
